About Me
I'm so excited to finally have my website up and running as you can see this is not my field of expertise! My name is Aubrey Waldron. I am happily married to Matt and together we have 5 crazy kids! I love being a doula and I'm very passionate about the work I do. Every birth I attend is an honor.
I also enjoy any outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, backpacking, running and skiing.
I love to read and most of all spend time with my family.
What is a Doula?- A doula is an invaluable asset to a woman and her partners birth team. Derived from the Greek word for woman servant. A doula accompanies a woman and her partner through labor and birth never leaving their side. Providing emotional and physical comfort. Offering much needed information during the process to enable them to make good informed choices.
Dads love us because they are relieved of trying to remember everything, they feel supported and can relax and really experience the event with mom.  When guided by a doula studies show women experience shorter births, less requests for medication, decrease the chance of a cesarean and more. Moms love all the coping methods a doula has up her sleeve. They love feeling nurtured, supported and safe with a doula. check out the UDA website!www.utahdoulas.org
Who hires a doula?
All kinds of people! People of different race, culture, economic status, backgrounds, birth philosophies! Who doesn't want to be pampered when they need it most!People who want to enhance their birth experience. Ask someone who has had one and they will tell you why.
How did I become a doula?
After experiencing the support of  two wonderful midwifes one acting as my doula I was amazed at the serenity of the birth of my 3rd child it was amazing. They taught me so many things I didn't have a clue could help me in labor. I knew I wanted their knowledge so that I could teach and support other women. I have been educated for the doula role by Kristi Ridd-Young a certified instructor from  DONA (Doulas of North America) International. I have and continue to attend workshops and other venues to further my knowledge. I also am a current member of DONA and the UDA (Utah Doula Association).
For the year 2008 I've been asked to serve on the UDA board for which I'm excited.
I have attended many different births and supported women and their partners who have birthed natural,  with a epidural, cesarean, and hypnobirthing.

I'm a pretty down to earth person who's realized a sense of humor is vital to a happy life. I love my family and friends. I love the moms and dads I have been able to serve and their sweet families.
Life is truly Precious!
